Alexandra Gilbert is the Deputy Executive Director of the Québec Association for Inclusive Recreation (AQLPH), where she has been advancing inclusive recreation for people with disabilities since 2018. With over ten years of experience in recreation and outdoor activities, and more than seven years dedicated specifically to accessibility and inclusion, she brings extensive expertise in project management, applied research, and stakeholder engagement.
Her professional background includes leadership in the integration of inclusive practices across programs, resources, and partnerships, as well as governance, knowledge transfer, and community mobilization. She has developed specialized skills in risk management, funding strategies, public policy and government relations, and communications.
Alexandra holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Leisure, Culture and Tourism Studies. She has also worked as a camp coordinator, university lecturer, and research assistant, contributing to publications and presentations on inclusive recreation and outdoor accessibility. In addition to her role at AQLPH, she serves on the board of the Québec Outdoor Network and sits on the administrative committee of the Observatory on Motor and Psychomotor Development of Children and Youth (0–18 years).
Rooted in Québec, Alexandra values the importance of geographic, cultural, and linguistic diversity in national organizations. She is committed to supporting the mission of the Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability by combining strategic vision, practical experience, and a strong dedication to inclusion.
